Concert
Our 2024 Concert will be held on Saturday, 30 November at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre. The concert involves the whole school, showcasing the students' talents and skills learnt during the year. Performing is an important aspect for a dancer, so it is an exciting time of year for all.
It is expected that all students enrolled will participate in the Concert. If you are not participating in the Concert, you need to let us know by the end of Term 2.

Don’t forget to:
-
Come to class! I can’t stress this enough - attendance is so important!! If you are not 100% but are able to sit and watch or stand in your position (and are not contagious), please still come to class.
-
Practice at home! Especially our Musical Theatre students who have lines to remember.
-
Start thinking about tights and shoes! All students should have the correct tights and shoes for their style of dance

FAQ
What time do we need to be at the Stage Dress Rehearsal?
Students need to arrive at 8.30am for the Dress Rehearsal, with hair and make-up done. The Dress Rehearsal will start at 9am.

Do we need to stay with our child during the Dress Rehearsal?
No. If you have a child in Act 1 only, we ask you to please wait during the Dress Rehearsal in the auditorium, the foyer or at the restaurant, Lightbox, outside the GECC, so you can collect your child at the appropriate time (approximately 10am).
If you have a child in Act 2, please collect them at 11am from the downstairs, back door to the dressing rooms (Oaka Lane).

Can we leave after our child's dance and come back for the Concert?
Yes. But before you leave, make sure your costumes and bags are organised ready for the concert (this applies to older students).
Students need to be dressed in their first costume with hair and make-up done by 1.15pm, ready to start at 1.30pm. If your child is not ready by 1.15pm, they may miss their dance on stage.

Can I be backstage with my child to help them get ready?
No. Due to the size of the GECC and child regulations we are required to adhere to, parents are not to be in the dressing rooms during the Dress Rehearsal or Concert. DCDC Staff, Senior Students and Adult Students will be supervising and assisting children to change. Please ensure you pack everything your child needs in a clearly labelled backpack.
